Ant Control
Is there a formula for something I can leave on the kitchen bench that will attract small black ants to feed and then go away and die, and hopefully discourage their millions of relatives to stay away?

Brown Recluse

Hong Kong Cicadas- Honeydew
Hello there. I have a question about Cicada's. I have a big tree outside my house (I live  in Hong Kong). The tree is full of Cicada's which screech seemingly all day and  night.   I would like to know why there is moisture dripping from this same tree day  and night. The ground below is constantly wet and there is a definite smell to  the moisture - kind of musty. Is the moisture from the Cicada's and if so what  is it?   I have looked at several resources, but found no definitive answer. Your  help would be greatly appreciated.

Hawaiian Butterflies
Aloha,
During my endless search for more information on 'Native' Hawaiian Butterflies other than the Hawaiian Monarch, I came across your name. I was wondering if you would have any readily available information you could share with me, or perhaps point me in the right direction.  I'm not looking for anything terribly scientific, but more on the informative and interesting-to-the-average-person scale.
Also, I collect, preserve, and sell Hawaiian Monarchs in various life stages, should you ever be in need of a specimen source.  I hope this doesn't offend you if you are highly sensitive to inhumane acts towards bugs.  I also raise and sell live ones, but can't ship out of the State of Hawaii; just incase you were wondering about the 'Beautiful Live Butterflies'.

Spiders Falling From Death-Defying Heights
Bugman,
Just yesterday, I witnessed a spider fall from a tree onto concrete.
I know that if I fell the same distance, proportionally, I would definitely die.  However, the spider I witnessed simply crawled away.  Could you please explain this.  Thank you.

Ladybugs as Roommates
Sirs:
Here is my long winded question.
This summer around August or September I noticed about 1500 ladybugs crawling
on the back (west) side of my house.  They were everywhere, crawling around
windows, up the walls, etc.  I was a bit taken aback, but I figured at the
time that it may simply have been a cyclical event akin to locusts and other
insects.

The rest of the long-winded question
Thanks,
Der Prozeb from Connecticut
