This is a newly emerged Cecropia Moth (Hyalophora cecropia). These moths are so pretty, yet they don't live very long as adults. They don't even have functional mouthparts when they are grown moths! They do all their eating as caterpillars and live as adults only long enough to mate, lay eggs and die.
