This is a Giant Water Bug (Lethocerus medius) eating a poor, unfortunate frog in a desert pool in southern Arizona. Short of doing a BBC thing (filming natural phenomena in terrariums!), it is clearly one of the coolest sights in nature. As a 'true bug', the Giant Water Bug has piercing/sucking mouthparts. It jabs its beak into the frog, injects a venom that includes digestive enzymes, and sucks out the ensuing mush! Don't cha' just love Nature!?
